Cleaning the oven is often put off until later, because no one wants to spend a day off dealing with burnt-on grease and carbon deposits. However, there is a proven method that dissolves even old stainswhile you are minding your own business. You don’t need expensive, harsh chemicals that make your eyes water.
Magic paste of two components
The secret to easy cleaning lies in the reaction soda and vinegar. This duo works more efficiently than many store-bought gels. First prepare a thick paste by mixing baking soda with a little water. The mixture should be easy to apply, but not too liquid.
-
Remove all racks and baking sheets from the oven.
-
Apply generously soda paste onto all internal surfaces, avoiding heating elements.
-
Pay special attention to the most contaminated areas, where the deposits are most dense.
-
Leave the product to act for at least 12 o’clock or overnight. During this time, the soda will soften the fatty crust.
The final touch for the perfect shine
The next day, you will notice that the paste has darkened in places, having absorbed dirt. Now arm yourself with a spray bottle with a regular table vinegar. Spray the acid over the dried baking soda. You will see an active reaction – the mixture will begin to hiss and foam. This is the key point when leftover fat finally move away from the walls.
Take a damp cloth and simply wipe up the dirty foam. If there are stubborn stains left somewhere, they can be easily removed with the soft side of the sponge, since the dirt has already lost its adhesion to the surface. Wipe the oven clean by soaking a cloth in water.
Fast method with steam
If you don’t have time to wait all night, use the force hot steam. Pour water into a deep pan and add a bag citric acid or sliced lemon. Turn on the oven at 150-200 degrees and leave for 30-40 minutes. The water will boil, and saturated steam will settle on the walls, softening the carbon deposits. After cooling, all you have to do is wipe the surfaces with a napkin.
Regular use of these methods will keep your equipment in perfect condition and extend its service life.
