Greasy hand marks can ruin the look of even the most expensive interior. Owners of glossy kitchens, mirrors and stainless steel appliances suffer especially from this problem. An ordinary damp cloth often makes things worse, smearing the dirt and leaving cloudy stains. To restore neatness to your home, it is important to select cleaning product depending on the type of material.
Glossy facades and glass
Gloss is the most demanding material on which everyone is visible. imprint. The main rule here is not to use abrasives or hard sponges that can scratch the coating.

Micellar water. This cosmetic product perfectly dissolves sebum. Apply a little liquid to a cotton pad and wipe away the stain, then blot dry microfiber cloth.

Mild soap solution. Dissolve a drop of dishwashing gel in water, wipe the facade with a soft cloth and be sure to wipe dry to avoid streaks.

Alcohol or antiseptic. Mix isopropyl alcohol with water in a 1:1 ratio. It is a powerful grease remover that is safe for most matte films.

Melamine sponge. Use it with caution and only locally. Wet the edge of the sponge with water and gently rub the stain, without applying strong force, so as not to rub off the matte layer.

Laundry soap. Lather a damp sponge and treat the contaminated area. You need to rinse off the soap thoroughly, changing the water several times.
Stainless steel and appliances
Refrigerators, hoods and ovens made of stainless steel are magnets for fingerprints. The water here leaves a limescale residue, so the approach must be different.

Vegetable oil. This is an unexpected but working method. Add some oil (or baby body oil) onto a paper towel and wipe the surface along the metal sanding lines. The oil will hide existing stains and create a protective film against new ones.

Vinegar solution. Mix table vinegar with water and wipe the metal. The acid breaks down traces of fat well.

Polish for steel. Specialized products create an antistatic effect and repel dirt.
Wallpaper and painted walls
Hand marks near switches are a common problem. You cannot wash paper wallpaper with water, and the paint can change color due to aggressive chemicals.

Stationery eraser. A regular soft eraser works well to remove surface stains from wallpaper and matte paint. It is important that the eraser is clean and white.

Bread crumb. An old folk method for delicate paper wallpaper. Roll a ball of white bread and roll it over the stain – the gluten will absorb the dirt.

Talc or starch. If the mark is fresh and greasy, sprinkle it with powder, leave it for a couple of hours, and then brush it off with a soft brush.
Regularly caring for problem areas only takes a few minutes if you have the right tools on hand. Microfiber and a suitable grease solvent allow you to maintain visual cleanliness without deep cleaning. Clean, stain-free surfaces instantly make a space feel brighter and more welcoming.
